welcome to wyrd!
Please read the rules in their entirety.
Please read the rules in their entirety.
Note that at any time staff may modify these rules - check back from time to time to see if there are any changes. They will be noted with a time-stamp, such as, edited 2/07/2014
REGISTRATION:
1. You must make an account to post on Wyrd. The only exception to this rule will be in the advertisement and suggestion/questions boards.
2. Registered names (or login name) can be anything [wolfy1234] - but display names cannot contain any numbers [1234] or symbols [@#$&!].
3. Display names do not have to be a character on Wyrd (but it is encouraged); you may use an Alias.
4. One account per member. Do not make multiple accounts for each of your characters.
5. When you register you will automatically receive a PM. Please read it and follow the instructions to get yourself properly set up at Wyrd.
APPLICATION:
1. When making your first character, please post their application within your first week after joining Wyrd. If you are not accepted after one week, for an incomplete application, or you do not post at all, your account will be deleted.
1. You must follow the template that is provided for you, here. You may expand on our minimum requirements, but you may not remove the basics of our outline. Fill it out completely or it won't be accepted. Also, give proper image credits.
2. You must wait for your character to be accepted by a staff member before you post with them IC. Feel free to post in any of the OOC boards, however.
3. We'd prefer for you to post a finished application. However if you must post an incomplete one, put 'WIP' in the title. It will be temporarily moved to the Underdeveloped Applications board until it is finished. As aforementioned, you will have one week to complete this application - unless an absence notice has been issued.
4. Do not under any circumstance steal from another site. If you are reported using another member's character profile, character images, etc. your IP address will be banned from Wyrd. We do not tolerate thievery. This also includes stolen artwork, pictures, artist lyrics etc. If it is not original to you, ALWAYS give credit where credit is due. If you are worried about being accused of moving one of your characters from one site to another please PM a staff member ahead of time. This will make any accusations easier later down the road.
5. When it comes to using images for your characters, Wyrd follows strict adherence to Creative Commons images. This means the photos are under a license to "adapt or build upon". We'll accept sources from Wikimedia Commons, Flickr, and DeviantArt Resources. Pay attention to the artist's instructions as to what you can and cannot do with their photo. Flickr images will say "Some Rights Reserved". If you have another source you're uncertain about, ask a Staff member in the cbox, PM them, or note it in your Application. We will correct you if need be. We only accept photos, and will not approve digital art, line art, etc. Photo manipulations are fine with proper credit to the artist(s).
THREADING:
1.Wyrd will not tolerate OOC cursing and will only moderately accept IC cursing.
2. Please keep in mind that Wyrd is a PG-13 site and follows Proboards TOS.
3. Graphic threads will not be tolerated. If you are reported for any graphic threads your account will be banned and a staff member will contact you via the email you provided at registration. It will then be up to the staff members to discuss if you may return to the site.
4. Please try to post at least once or twice a week to maintain activity. Those who post more frequently will be rewarded.
5. We have a word minimum of 200, but certainly encourage you to write more. If you're lacking muse try to describe something in the area, an old worn out tire, a bird that is fluttering in a tree nearby, maybe your character hears thunder in the distance? Settle for 200, strive for more.
FIGHTING & BREEDING:
Fighting
1. IC fights will be overseen by Staff. If you know you and another character will be fighting, PM one of the staff so that they may keep tabs on the thread.
2. Each character is allowed 5 attacks and 5 dodges. You will denote each action with a number:[sup]1[/sup]Character 1 attacks Character 2.
[sup]1[/sup]Character 2 dodges Character 1's attack.
If all 5 attacks and dodges are used before the fight is complete, it will then be judged by staff
3. Each character will start with 100 HP unless they have a previous injury or disability that has been brought to Staff's attention by the participants. HP will decrease with each attack, and depending on the severity, it will decrease in larger quantities. If a character runs out of HP, the other automatically wins.
Breeding
1. Breeding is never to be graphic; you must 'fade to black' if the thread becomes overtly graphic.
2. The appropriate season for breeding is Winter/Spring. Birthing will occur in Summer.
3. You must have at least 2 threads with your character's potential mate before they can breed. This includes force breeding.
4. After the characters become mates, both Father and Mother must post in the New Litters board with the corresponding form. Staff will take their information into consideration and post pup stats. Even though stats may be posted, your litter will not be available for adoption until the site has entered Summer. The thread will receive a note when the pups have been "born".
C-BOX:
1. Please only use shorthand where it is is need. brb, lol, jk are all acceptable. Do not typ3 lik dis.
2. Do not spam in our cbox. This includes posting 3+ times in a row (our cbox allows up to 500 characters, use them), keyboard smashing or use of excessive dots, posting links to other rp sites or advertising for products. Please do not mention the names of other rp sites as this is also considered advertising even without links. If you have a question about a site you are making post it in general chat.
3. If you must argue, take it to PM's. But please, contact a staff member so we can help solve any issues. We're here to mediate issues and wish for our members to get along peacefully.
4. Be sensitive about the topics you bring up in the cbox. If you think it may be offensive, triggering, or think it will make anyone uncomfortable, save it for a private conversation or note the content in a general chat thread.
5. Do not impersonate any staff or other Wyrd members. Be yourself or your IP address will be banned without hesitation. To keep impersonations from happening please register your name in the cbox. You may do so by clicking the 'profile' tab in the bottom right hand corner.*** IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO PM A STAFF MEMBER. ALL STAFF WERE HIRED TO HELP THE MEMBERS OF WYRD IN ALL AREAS. PLEASE, CONTACT US WITH ANY CONCERNS. ***
