The rocky foothills of the Vernic Mountains are stoney and cold, but crawling with prey. Small mammals hide in the rock crevices, and Bighorn sheep freely leap across the boulders. Worn-in trails wind upward and can be explored by any. Some lead to small outcroppings in the rock that may be used as temporary shelter. At higher elevations, prey animals become more scarce, as does dirt and grass. All turns to stone the closer one comes to the mountain.

The forest is vast, lush, and green. A number of creatures thrive here, making the woods plentiful with prey. However this expansive area can also be dangerous, as bears roam between the trees and bobcats stalk small prey.

The steep, russet cliffs of Catall Gorge are the farthest reaching arms of the Vernic Mountains. They act as a passageway from the valley to the plains beyond, becoming narrow along the path. The rock is brittle, and not the best for climbing, but should you get a foothold, they are useful for seeing far distances into the east and west.

An artifact from people, this abandoned mine opens up the ground far in the south of the Plain of Feron. It is basically a pit, with some wooden planks fortifying the walls and others sitting in the dirt and becoming overgrown by grass. One side is sloped so one can descend into it, and the mine itself goes for several hundred feet underground.
